I like making this recipe with preschool children because it incorporates so many learning concepts. It is a simple recipe and most steps can be completed by the children. A few of the learning concepts that I have used with this recipe are:
- As you peel the skin, you can talk about the color and texture of the orange along with the science of what skin does for our bodies.
- When you slice the orange, talk to the children about the shape and how you could make different shapes if you cut it in a different way.
- I like that it shows children some new things about a healthy fruit… even if we add a little sugar for sweetness!
